Independent data updating is the process of rejuvenating and updating data independently which aims to create data that is accurate, current, integrated, of good quality so as to create data interoperability. The aim of the research is to prevent data anomalies and to analyze the benefits of updating data for promotions (KP) and periodic salary increases (KGB) within the Ministry of Transportation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with primary data of 10 (ten) respondents who are civil servant employees assigned to the Ministry of Transportation. The research results show that 10 (ten) employees received the benefits of data updating for promotion (KP) (100 percent) and 10 (ten) employees (100 percent) were useful for periodic salary increases (KGB). Maintenance of Personnel Data and Information is the activity of entering data and updating personnel data in the personnel database to ensure the quality of the data so that it is always in the correct condition, both quality and quantity, which is carried out continuously and consistently.
